"Chazzanut – the Voice of the Soul" is a unique musical event
that transports listeners into the world of Jewish synagogue music — a deeply spiritual and emotionally charged tradition that, for centuries, resonated in houses of prayer and synagogues across Europe. The concert program pays tribute to a culture that nearly vanished from the European landscape following the tragic events of World War II.

The repertoire begins with traditional liturgical chants, performed
a cappella in the style of chazzanut — the vocal art of the cantors. These are complemented by vocal works accompanied by organ, which began to appear in reform synagogues in the 19th century, marking the beginning of a new aesthetic in Jewish religious music.

The concert also includes solo organ pieces by composers of Jewish origin, who composed both liturgical and secular music such as Louis LewandowskiSalomon Sulzer, and Samuel Naumbourg. Through this carefully curated selection, the audience is invited to experience the full artistic depth of a musical tradition rooted in spirituality yet open to dialogue with European culture.
